Theocratic Authority

Ranks and the seniority principles are typical of the spiritual realm. When it gets to the community, God picks out a mediator, one man from the nation, and anoints him for a certain mission. It’s radically different from the democracy system when people elect President candidates to promote their interests. There is no happy medium, these are two world systems — theocratic and democratic. «And the Lord said to Moses, «Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.» (Ex.19:8) The only thing I can do is just to take the words of Moses on trust. «Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, «The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!» (Jd.7:20) Choosing Gideon to be the leader of Israel, God was training the people to trust Gideon IN PARTICULAR as His appointed leader.
